The highly anticipated Pokemon Card 151 set, known as Pokemon Scarlet & Violet – 151, has been officially confirmed by The Pokemon Company for an international release in September. On September 22, 2023, the set will become available in the US and other countries outside of Japan. Featuring approximately 200 cards, including nearly 50 Secret Rare cards, the set will showcase Illustration Rare and Secret Illustration Rare cards of beloved Pokemon characters. It’s worth noting that the Snorlax, Mewtwo, and Mew Illustration Rare cards have been transformed into promotional cards and will not be obtainable through regular booster packs.

Similar to the previous year’s Crown Zenith expansion, this release is a unique set where individual booster packs will not be sold separately. Instead, players will have the opportunity to purchase various boxed sets and tins that include multiple booster packs. Some of the special products available will include Elite Trainer Boxes, a Poster Collection, a Binder Collection, a Booster Bundle, an Ultra-Premium Collection featuring a metal Mew ex card, as well as boxes showcasing Zapdos ex and Alakazam ex. Notably, this marks the first appearance of Kadabra in a Pokemon TCG set in over two decades.

The new Pokemon TCG set has generated significant demand in Japan, prompting The Pokemon Company to adopt a print-on-demand approach to counteract resellers and scalpers. By implementing this strategy, they aim to meet the high demand while ensuring fair distribution of the product.

Anticipated to be one of the most highly sought-after Pokemon card sets in recent memory, it is expected that certain cards, such as the Charizard ex Special Illustration Rare, will hold significant value in the secondary market. The Elite Trainer Box for Pokemon Scarlet & Violet – 151 is already available for pre-order on the Pokemon Center’s website. Additional products are likely to be released for pre-order in the upcoming week. To secure your purchase, it is advisable to place an order promptly, as demand is expected to remain high in the coming months.
